Introduction
Two Areas of Expertise. One Practice.
LST Psychological Services is an independent specialty practice at the intersection of aeromedical psychology and pediatric neuropsychology — two fields that demand clinical precision, deep domain expertise and strict ethical standards. The populations are different. The standard of care is not.
01 Aeromedical Psychology
Precision, documentation and regulatory compliance — from first call to final report.
Psychological evaluations for FAA-regulated aviation personnel, conducted in accordance with FAA Office of Aerospace Medicine specifications and applicable state law. Every evaluation is scoped to the requirement in front of you, documented thoroughly, and delivered to the appropriate office.
Service 01
ATC Tier 2 Pre-Employment Evaluation
A pre-employment psychological evaluation for air traffic control candidates, prepared to the standards and format expected for Tier 2 screening.
Tier 2 appointments are scheduled through the FAA hiring process, not through this office.
Service 02
Pilot Special Issuance Psychological Evaluation
Evaluation for pilots pursuing a Special Issuance of medical certification, addressing the specific psychological questions raised in the case.
Scoped to the individual letter of inquiry and the documentation requested.
Service 03
Expert Consultation & Record Review
Independent review of records, prior evaluations and case documentation — for pilots, AMEs, attorneys and other professionals who need a clear, expert reading.
Written summaries available on request.

02 Pediatric Neuropsychology
Understanding how a child thinks, learns and feels — then building a plan around it.
Evaluation and evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents with neurological, behavioral, emotional and learning challenges. Services are designed collaboratively with families, educators and treating physicians to support the child across home, school and medical settings.
Functional Neurological Disorder (FND)
Evaluation and treatment for children and adolescents whose symptoms involve the functioning of the nervous system — with a clear explanation of what is happening and what can help.
Assessment and evidence-based treatment that looks at the whole pattern — attention, movement, mood and daily functioning — rather than a single symptom in isolation.
Structured evaluation of how a child processes, retains and expresses information, with practical recommendations that families and schools can actually use.
Services are designed collaboratively with families, educators and treating physicians to support the child across home, school and medical settings — so the guidance you receive is consistent everywhere your child spends their day.
Dr. Sharpe-Taylor is a licensed psychologist whose practice sits across two demanding specialty areas: aeromedical psychology and pediatric neuropsychology. She provides psychological evaluations for FAA-regulated aviation personnel in accordance with FAA Office of Aerospace Medicine specifications and applicable state law, and evaluation and evidence-based treatment for children and adolescents with neurological, behavioral, emotional and learning challenges.
Her aeromedical work includes ATC Tier 2 pre-employment evaluations, pilot Special Issuance psychological evaluations, and expert consultation and record review for pilots, AMEs, attorneys and other professionals. Her pediatric work spans Functional Neurological Disorder, ADHD, tics, behavioral disruption, emotional regulation and learning difficulties — always developed collaboratively with families, educators and treating physicians.
Through PSYPACT authority, Dr. Sharpe-Taylor is able to practice in most states. The office is located in Clayton, Missouri, and is seen by appointment only.
Families deserve a clinician who speaks to both the science and the practical path forward.

Questions families and applicants ask first.

Tier 2 appointments are scheduled through the FAA hiring process, not through this office. Applicants should confirm their appointment date through the FAA applicant portal. Once you have a date and requirements in hand, you are welcome to call the office so we can confirm what is needed on our side.

A Special Issuance psychological evaluation relates to a pilot's medical certification when additional psychological information has been requested. It is a distinct process from the ATC Tier 2 evaluation, with different FAA standards, offices and requirements.
If you have received a letter or notice, bring it to your first call so the evaluation can be scoped to exactly what was requested.

Dr. Sharpe-Taylor holds PSYPACT authority to practice in most states, which supports psychology services across state lines where permitted. Availability of telehealth depends on the type of service, your location and the requirements of the evaluation in question.

The pediatric practice evaluates and treats children and adolescents — from early school age through the teenage years. Services are matched to the child's developmental stage and to the questions parents and schools are trying to answer.
Call the office to confirm whether your child's age and concern are a good fit.
Typically, families are asked to bring any previous testing or reports, school records and report cards, relevant medical or neurological records, and a list of current medications. Comfortable clothing and a snack are often helpful for younger children.
Your exact list is confirmed when the appointment is booked, since it varies by the reason for the evaluation.

The best first step is a phone call. A brief conversation establishes which evaluation applies, what records are needed, and what timing and cost look like — whether you are a pilot or ATC applicant, an AME or attorney, or a parent seeking support for a child.
